AILRSA Madurai Division raised an Industrial Dispute before Labour Enforcement Officer(LEO) Madurai for changing the classification of Loco Pilots from CONTINUOUS ( 12 +1 Hours duty at a stretch )to INTENSIVE(6 hours duty at a stretch). LEO Madurai conducted a job analysis and accepted the demand raised by AILRSA. Railway went appeal to Regional Labour Commissioner (RLC) Chennai.

On 26.12.2011 Sri. MM Jagannatha Rao, RLC(central) and Appellant Authority under Railway Servants9Hours of Work and Period of Rest) rules 2005 issued an order as follows.

No. M.41/1/HOER/2011-B2 Dated 26.12.2011
ORDER
The respondent is directed to reclassify the working hours of the Loco Pilots operating passenger trains from “Continuous” to  “Intensive” from date of Job analysis conducted by LEO Madurai ie with effect from 11.12.2009. Hence the appeal is disposed of allowing claim of the appellant.
