The dog, who has now been recommended for a special award by the Haryana Police, was accompanied by another police canine during the operation.
Chili passed out in May this year from the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) dog training academy in Bhanu in Chandigarh after a gruelling 24-week training.
The centre, National Training Centre for Dogs (NTCD), is known for delivering some very sharp dogs to various police and anti-terror squads in the country and has been marked as a centre for excellence in police dog training.
"Labradors are very docile but highly intelligent breed who have always proved their worth in such scenarios where detection of explosive is the key for success," a dog training expert said.
Chili passed out from the academy along with four other dogs who were trained by the ITBP on request from Haryana Police.
