SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT, THE HINDU

The assistant loco pilot of the Ernakulam – Bengaluru Express, Pritham Kumar, suffered a minor injury on Saturday, after a stone thrown by a few school students who were playing near the railway track hit his eye.

The train was proceeding between Magudanchavadi and Veerapandi road railway stations in the Erode – Salem section, when a stone thrown by the boys hit the lookout glass of the loco. The stone damaged the glass and hit Pritham Kumar’s eye.

As soon as the train reached Salem Junction, he was taken to the Railway Hospital and treated.
