1,681 cases disposed of, 165 officers booked by CVC

New Delhi, Sep 19 (IANS) The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) disposed of 1,681 cases and recommended major penalties against 165 officers in July, an official statement said Monday.
'Of the total complaints, action was initiated in 1,263 while 94 were investigated. No action was required on 287 complaints,' said the statement.
The 165 officers include 22 from the railway ministry, 17 from Union Bank of India, 13 from Punjab National Bank, eight from urban development ministry and other officials from various government departments and public sector undertakings.
'After examination of some of the departments, the commission recovered about Rs. 6 crore,' added the statement.
