Train engine derails; disrupts traffic












The engine of Jhelum Express going towards from Jammu Tavi derailed near here disrupting traffic on the route for nearly two hours, railway sources said today.

No injuries were reported in the mishap which occurred near Padav Pul, at some distance from the railway station last evening, they said.

The engine of Jhelum Express was changed after it reported some technical snag at Gwalior station, according to railway PRO Ravi Prakash.

A wheel of the engine derailed during shifting after detachment from rest of the bogies, he said.

Because of the derailment, the traffic movement on the track was disrupted for about two hours.

The train later continued its onward journey after another engine was attached to it.
