Association demands training centre for technical supervisors
The Indian Railways Technical Supervisors Association
(IRTSA) urged the government to appoint an expert while nominating
members for the Seventh Central Pay Commission, so that the anomalies of
the previous pay commission could be addressed.
A
resolution to this effect was adopted at the two day All-India
Conference and 48th general body meeting which concluded here on Friday.
Another resolution demanded the Centre to extend 30 per cent interim relief to all central government employees.
At
present, the Southern Railway has no training centre for technical
supervisors and they are being sent to other zonal Railways for
training.
A training centre for technical supervisors should be opened in Southern Railway, another resolution said.
The
Golden Rock Railway Hospital should be provided with adequate
infrastructure to cater the needs of the employees of Tiruchi Division,
and the Chief Medical Superintendent of the hospital should be vested
with powers for outsourcing workforce on the lines of the Zonal Railway
Hospital, Perambur.
By other resolutions, the
Association demanded the Centre to do away with the new pension scheme
and also ceiling for productivity linked bonus, Group ‘B’ status to
railway engineers, exempting house rent allowance, dearness allowance
from income tax calculation, merging 50 per cent of the DA with the
basic pay , awarding different pay scales for railways like army.
M. Shanmugam, central president, IRTSA, Chennai, presided over the conference and Harchnandan Singh, delivered special address.
