CBI arrests Goods Guard in job fraud case

Mahboob Basha, Goods Guard with South Central Railway, Guntur, for demanding and accepting a bribe amount of Rs. 3.4 lakh in the form of a cheque from the complainant on Thursday. A 76-year-old French national, who accidentally fell off from a moving express train late on Monday night, was found injured on the railway track near the Nanjundapuram over bridge on Tuesday morning. Loco pilots upset with Railway Board’s decision on duty hours

Having agitated for over four decades to get “just working hours and conducive working atmosphere”, the All India Loco Running Staff Association is disappointed after the Railway Board finally acted on their demands.

Three years after a high-power committee submitted its report on duty hours of loco pilots, the board, during February first week, accepted 70 out of 89 recommendations. The association claimed that the left-out recommendations were the ones that could have soothed their demands.

More than 40 passengers on the Indian Railways Bengaluru-bound Kanyakumari-Bangalore City Express train were injured after its four coaches derailed in Vellore district, around 170 km from here, according to reports.
